You all know how much I love animals and this story highlights perfectly why: At the beginning of the month, 6-month-old golden retriever from Anthem, AZ stepped in harms way to stop his owner from getting bitten by a rattlesnake during a walk and was bitten instead.
“The retriever, Todd, and his owner, Paula Godwin, were walking early Friday morning down 7th Street and Carefree Highway when Godwin almost stepped on a rattlesnake, according to Godwin’s Facebook post.”1 (See full post below)
Sensing danger, Todd jumped to protect Godwin and was bitten in the face in the process.
Godwin reports that Todd is recovering and is “being a normal puppy.” We wish him a speedy recovery!
