The FDA clearly says they want to ban or put a regulation on dangerous antibacterial soaps but now might be backtracking… We soon shall see. Personally I would never use one and know the dangers of doing so. My better half is a family physician over 29 years and he too refuses to use them.
FDA proposes ban on antibacterial soaps – Health – Boston.com.
from the piece:
Antibacterial soaps made by companies including Dial and Lever contain chemicals that have a spotty safety record. “Some data suggest that long-term exposure to certain active ingredients used in antibacterial products — for example, triclosan (liquid soaps) and triclocarban (bar soaps) — could pose health risks, such as bacterial resistance or hormonal effects,” according to a statement released by the FDA.
We use tea tree oil sparingly and no antibacterial soaps nor anything from these brands which many experts say aren’t great for the environment, animals (experimentation) or adults and kids.
