Gallup: Big Pharma Sinks to the Bottom of U.S. Industry Rankings

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The pharmaceutical industry is now the most poorly regarded industry in Americans’ eyes, ranking last on a list of 25 industries that Gallup tests annually. Americans are more than twice as likely to rate the pharmaceutical industry negatively (58%) as positively (27%), giving it a net-positive score of -31. The restaurant industry is rated most positively. Besides its pharmacy operations, Walmart has long been a healthcare provider, running healthcare clinics in many of its stores. According to Walmart’s website, they provide services that include primary care, treatment of illnesses and injuries, physicals and wellness checks, management of ongoing conditions, and lab tests and immunizations. Washington Post: New York Announces Antitrust Investigation into Facebook, Kicking off Multistate Effort

A multistate investigation of Facebook for possible antitrust violations is underway. New York Attorney General Letitia James announced the news Friday. James will be joined by the attorney generals of Colorado, Iowa,Florida, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and the District of Columbia. As Hurricane Dorian continues its march along the East Coast, disaster response groups are evacuating homeless dogs and cats from shelters in the path of the storm. Many are now up for adoption.
