CBS: 100-gallon drums labeled ‘Weed Killer’ found at bottom of scenic Oregon lake

Several seemingly intact 100-gallon drums labeled “Weed Killer” have been detected in Wallowa Lake in Oregon, causing concern for state and federal officials. The Environmental Protection Agency had this to say about the drums: “Fifty-five-gallon drums have been found at the lake bottom for years, a remnant of the days when empty drums were used extensively to float and anchor docks. It was common practice for people to fill the drums with water, rock or cement and anchor the drums with rope to floating docks.”1 However, it’s the “12 seemingly intact 100-gallon” drums labeled “2,4-D or 2,4,5-T weed killer”1that...

CNBC: Bayer to invest $5.6 billion in weedkiller research to help reputation

Bayer is doing damage control after suffering losses caused by U.S. lawsuits over claims its weedkiller glyphosate causes cancer. On Friday, the company said it would invest $5.6 billion in pesticide research. Bayer also promised to lower its environmental impact by 30% through 2030 by means such as practicing more precise and more careful application of its chemicals to crops. His defense attorney has argued his relationships with Nxivm followers were consensual. For the past six weeks, he has been on trial in a New York federal court accused of creating an...

Pastor Convicted of Regularly Raping His Adopted Daughter Receives Light Sentence Due to His “Longtime Ministry”

Former Tennessee Pastor David Richards received a light sentence after being convicted of repeatedly raping his fourteen-year-old adopted daughter. After all, nothing says “good Christian man” like rape and incest. Richards, who is also a former caseworker with Smoky Mountain Children’s home in Sevierville, TN, was found guilty in Knox County by a jury of five men and seven women in February 2019 on nine felony counts, including rape, incest and sexual battery by an authority figure concerning Amber Richards, his (then) 14-year-old adopted daughter. Judge Steven Sword, in what many feel is a disgraceful miscarriage of justice, sentenced...

WND: Law would let schools diagnose kids ‘mentally ill’

A law is currently being proposed in Texas that would allow schools to identify students as mentally ill. The bill would require schools to set up “threat assessment teams” to single out students considered a suicide risk and turn them in to mental health authorities. Leaders of at least 130 organizations are against the proposed law (allegedly designed to improve school safety), and have sent a letter to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warning him of their concerns and requesting he veto the bill. According to John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute, who is a signatory of the letter...
