According to police, a baby was found dead Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. at an Amazon distribution center in Phoenix. Police said they responded to a call about a newborn baby found dead inside a women’s restroom. Phoenix firefighters also responded and confirmed the baby was dead. This is now an ongoing death investigation by police. Amazon released a statement Wednesday night to AZ Family saying: “This is a terribly sad and tragic incident. We are working with local authorities to support their investigation. The safety and wellness of our team is our top priority.” Rest in peace sweet baby....

On Wednesday morning, AMAZON’S virtual assistant “Alexa” stopped working for some of its users all over the world. Essentially, Alexa- who is controlled by voice- was just ignoring user requests. Now that we are firmly in the middle of winter, and in some places it’s very snowy and cold, I thought exploring the topic of “hygge” might be fun. Check out the video and then my thoughts below… While I think it’s possible that some people might freak out about the comment that Denmark is like the United States had Bernie Sanders become president (because he believes in universal healthcare and socialism), I understand what the man is saying. And I’ve always been very open-minded but I think that it’s likely only smaller countries like Denmark where that kind of thing works best. I think it can be very very effective and I think that the Danish people are really happy. I just don’t know that it would work in the United States. We are just so darn big. And I think I grew up with this idealistic thinking, “Maybe socialism could work here.” But no. It couldn’t. Plus, I think their government is more trustworthy than ours. I really do. Top Italian immunologist and former centre-right politician Fernando Aiuti died after falling down stairs at a hospital in Rome on Wednesday. Aiuti, 83, would go on to die of complications due to the fall (he had been at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital for treatment of a heart condition). Rome prosecutors are investigating the death and police are not ruling out suicide.
