Pesticides Permanently Damage the Brains of Baby Bees, New Research Finds

Baby bumblebees do not develop normally when exposed to food contaminated with a specific type of pesticide, according to scientists. Researchers from the Imperial College London scanned the brains of bees exposed to imidacloprid, an insecticide with a similar chemical composition to nicotine. They found the critical region of the brain that aids learning showed reduced growth in the insects exposed to imidacloprid.
