France bans smartphones in schools

Since 2010, France has had a law on the books that prevented smartphone use during class hours but under new legislation, French students will be prohibited from using smartphones and tablets while at school. “The law, which was originally noted in President Emmanuel Macron’s election campaign, was elevated to a matter of public health amidst concerns French youth has become super-connected.”1 This new law will completely forbid phone use between classes and even during meal times (schools will be allowed to make ‘pedagogical’ exceptions). Report shows legal weed in Nevada made drivers SAFER as crashes dropped significantly

According to a recent report from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, deaths from traffic accidents in Nevada have dropped by over 10 percent in the first year that marijuana was legalized in the state for recreational use. Prior to legalization in Nevada, between July 2016 and May 2017, 310 people died in traffic accidents, but in the year since legalization took effect, between July 2017 and May 2018, that number was reduced to just 277. Fox: Almond milk found containing real milk recalled in 28 states

The FDA issued a recall yesterday for certain half-gallon cartons of Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk because it was found to contain real milk. The issue involved 145,254 half-gallon cartons across 28 states. “The FDA estimates 145,254 cartons were shipped to retailers and wholesalers in Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. Temporary switch to chlorine may change taste of Tampa water

If you live in the city of Tampa you might notice a slight difference in the taste and odor of your drinking water; beginning August 6th the Tampa Water Department will begin its conversion of water disinfection from chloramine to chlorine. The conversion is temporary and will end on August 27th.
