ABC: Dog dies on United Airlines flight after passenger ordered to stow pet in overhead bin

This weekend, a passenger on United flight 1284 from Houston to New York’s Laguardia airport was ordered by a flight attendant to put her 10-month old French bulldog- which was inside a TSA-approved carrier- in the overhead bin. The passenger repeatedly told the attendant that the bag had a puppy inside but the employee insisted. Passengers reported hearing barking for the first 30 minutes of the flight, although the family reports hearing barking from their sweet fur baby for up to 2 hours. However, by the end of the trip, “horrified passengers found the dog had died in flight.”1...

How a cold turned into a quadruple amputation for a Utah mother of 6

A little over a month ago 38-year-old Tiffany King, mom to Nesi 27 (adopted), Davontae 19, Inoke 16, Robbie 10, Mckelvey 7, and Jamison 4, got a cold. However, because she takes Humira to combat her Ankylosing Spondylitis (a rare form of arthritis that affects the spine and large joints in the body) and Humira weakens the immune system, her simple cold turned into bacterial and viral pneumonia, putting her in the hospital for a month, where she got sepsis. And according to her niece Rielly Fonohema, contracting the life-threatening blood infection lowered King’s chance of living from 70-percent to 15-percent...

I don’t know about you but I love a good, long, hot bath. Especially after a particularly tough or stressful day. And for those of us who love a nice bath, a study published last year has found that “relaxing in a hot bath and doing absolutely nothing may be just as beneficial for your body as a 30-minute walk.”4 (I have a friend from elementary school that always called baths “swimming in dirty water”. He was a swimmer!) A group at Loughborough University put 14 men through two tests: a one-hour bicycle ride and a one-hour bath in 104-degree-Fahrenheit water,...

Dentists keep dying of this deadly lung disease. The CDC can’t figure out why.

It’s estimated that in the U.S., about 200,000 people have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, or IPF, at any one time. However, the CDC is worried about what seems to be a cluster in the dental community. Over a 15-year period, a Virginia clinic saw eight dentists and one dental technician with the deadly disease that can be treated, but not cured. (Of the 9, 7 have already died.) RELATED STORY: Use a mercury-free dentist IPF causes scarring of the lungs and can be slowed however, there is currently no way to remove the scar tissue and over time, it’s difficult for the lungs...
