Michael Stone, the Canadian yoga innovator who lived a healthy and spiritual life and offered compassion and collaboration yoga and meditation retreats, died in the middle of July from a suspected overdose in Victoria. 1 Stone was declared brain-dead on July 14 and was placed on life support for organ donor purposes. Initial tests showed opioids (including fentanyl) in Stone’s body, but conclusive toxicology tests will not be ready for up to five months.2 His family says he likely took the street drugs only after a pharmacy rejected his request for treatment medicine.
