For those of us who love animals and hate animal cruelty, the news that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is finally done, is sweet, sweet music. Sunday, May 22nd was their last show. EVER. While we feel for the many employees, many of whom are second, third and even fourth-generation circus performers, the animals were suffering terrible treatment under horrible conditions. Cancer Research UK is funding scientists at the University of Cambridge so they can test whether the Zika virus can be used to destroy brain tumors. Researchers are hoping to the results will lead to new treatments for glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive form of brain tumor.
