Two prison guards who were on duty during the night in which Jeffrey Epstein killed himself have been arrested Tuesday on federal charges linked to their alleged failure to check on his well-being. The guards, identified as Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, have been charged with making false records and conspiring to make false records and to defraud the United States by impairing the lawful functions of the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was found dead on Aug. 10, prosecutors announced. The Environment Protection Agency plans to limit the scientific research that the government can use to form public health regulations, according to The New York Times. A draft of the EPA’s proposal obtained by the Times would require scientists to reveal their raw data, including confidential medical records, for the agency to consider a study’s conclusions.
