The Vegetable Orchestra

The Vegetable Orchestra

Posted by | Sep 26, 2016 | ,

Happy Monday! It’s time for a fun little story. Did you know you could make music with vegetables? Me neither. But hey, I’m down! Check out this fun little video about the “Vegetable Orchestra” from Vienna, Austria. For the last 18 years, the orchestra has been performing with instruments made from vegetables. The musicians purchase produce from a local market, turn it into instruments and perform in front of a live audience. The vegetable scraps are made into soup, which the group then serves to the audience at the end of each performance. Source:...

Federal Bill Seeks First Native American Land Grab in 100 Years

Federal Bill Seeks First Native American Land Grab in 100 Years

Even though the ink on the Dakota Access Pipeline deal isn’t yet dry, two congressmen, Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz, have recently introduced a bill to the U.S. House of Representatives seeking to take 100,000 acres of Ute tribal lands and hand them over to oil and mining companies. The level of greed in this country must be at an all-time high. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the bill also seeks to remove protection from 18 million acres of land in eastern Utah and prevent President Obama from designating the Bears Ears area a national monument. In May a...

Second update: see the DUNCE, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, below who the mayors said DEMANDED them to keep all this quiet. There’s also a mainstream link at bottom predicting him as Florida’s next governor! It just so happens that our corrupt governor, Rick Scott, has a HUGE vested (financial) interest in the mosquito spray companies AND the fracked...

UK zoo unable to save ‘world’s saddest polar bear’ from Chinese aquarium

We had all been holding our breath and hoping that Yorkshire Wildlife Park, who have a specially designed polar bear enclosure designed to mimic being in the wild, would be able to take the “world’s saddest” polar bear into custody (while I may not like zoos, this would have been infinitely better) but it has been confirmed that the shopping mall not only turned down the offer but have plans to expand their zoo. From the article: “Yorkshire Wildlife Park has asked Guangzhou’s Grandview Aquarium to let them move Pizza, as he is known, to their specially designed polar bear habitat....

ABC: Student suspended after posting picture of discolored water in school bathroom to social media

When Hazel Juco saw discolored water coming from the sink at school she was rightly concerned- so she took a picture. The senior at John Glenn High School took the photo to her newspaper class where they discussed it and then she posted it to Facebook and Twitter and complained about the state of her school. ABC 15 reports she said, “I always hope that someone will see it and want to help us. Because our school obviously doesn’t have money.” But a short time later she found herself in the office. Her picture, it seems, was cause enough for...
