The Incredibly Wrong Reason Americans Waste So Much Food

Did you know that here in the United States we waste over 140 trillion calories of perfectly good food every year? And yet each and everyday- someone goes hungry. But why are we wasting so much? A recent national survey, from researchers at The Ohio State University, is providing a comprehensive overview of the exact reasons why we waste so much—and one of the most common reasons may surprise you. Many of the reasons make sense or rather, wouldn’t surprise you: ran out of time, bought a little too much in bulk, or simply thought something that had been sitting out a...

Only 10 Companies Own All The World’s Brands?

As amazing as this story is, it also makes me sick to my stomach. Read on. In 2014, Oxfam International created a wonderfully comprehensive infographic which revealed the extensive reach of the “Big 10” food and beverage companies. Just take a look, and then look again. For example, PepsiCo produces Quaker granola bars, and Nestlé makes Kit Kat bars but also frozen California Pizza Kitchen pies. The idea then gained momentum with the development of organized religion...

Of those women, 8,604 died during the study.” This was quite intriguing to us so check it out from the article: Factors such as age,...

Actor Alan Cumming asks Dairy Queen to offer a Vegan ice cream & get with the times

Celebrity and actor Alan Cumming is not afraid to step up and ask for what he wants. Recently he’s penned a letter for PETA asking for at least some vegan options at the ole DQ to follow in the footsteps of TCBY, Pinkberry, and Ben & Jerry’s, all of whom have vegan ice creams. What’s up with DQ? I remember going there to eat their “Food” in high school. Out of the fast food restaurants it really was the worst for “meals” I hope they catch up, because right now? I cannot find one vegan ice cream option on their...
