A new report is out which asks that stronger attention be paid to the growing amount of evidence that many common chemicals endanger neurodevelopment in fetuses and children of all ages. The report titled: “Project TENDR: Targeting Environmental NeuroDevelopment Risks,” was published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives. The group, which consisted of dozens of health practitioners and children’s health advocates, has a website with information about each of the chemicals of concern. In my beloved state, toxic algae blooms have caused my least favorite Gov. Rick Scott to declare a state of emergency in two counties. While Scott has blamed the feds for letting a dam on Lake Okeechobee deteriorate many environmentalists are blaming Big Sugar; they believe the problem is due to their giant pollution runoff into Lake O.
