New Study Finds Brain Changes in Newborns Exposed to Antidepressants

A new study, published in Cerebral Cortex, has found that there are changes in the brain electrical activity of infants who have been exposed to SSRI antidepressants during pregnancy. What the researchers found is comparable to effects found in previous animal studies; the changes are associated with less-organized communication between the brain’s hemispheres.
