A prominent doctor who headed a department at the holistically-minded Cleveland Clinic, and a Libertarian presidential candidate (until last month) was found dead Wednesday in a motel in Ohio. It is with great sadness that I announce the youngest death out of over 50 doctors who have died suddenly, mysteriously, or were (confirmed) murdered in the last year. The anniversary of the beginning of this nightmare was just days ago on Father’s Day. Pacific Gas & Electric Co., also know as PG&E- one of California’s largest energy utilities- made the decision to close the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant by 2025 after their operating licenses expire. While this step runs counter to the nuclear industry’s arguments that curbing carbon emissions and combating climate change require the use of nuclear power, it’s welcome news to many in the state.
