McDonald’s franchise owners confirm: fast food giant “Facing Its final days”

San Diego, CA — Embattled fast food giant McDonald’s is making headlines yet again. The company has just launched its much advertised all-day breakfast program, but as that campaign rolls out, franchise owners are voicing their concerns over what may be the company’s dying days. As we covered at Anti-Media in June, the McDonald’s franchise has been shrinking for the first time in the company’s over 40 year history: “McDonald’s announced in April that it would be closing 700 ‘underperforming’ locations, but because of the company’s sheer size — it has 14,300 locations in the United States alone —...

31 y/o Holistic MD & best selling author found dead in Hawaii

I am truly sad to share the news of the tragic death of 31 year old holistic MD Jamie Zimmerman. I’m not going to officially call her as the thirteenth doctor in my unintended series of holistic doctor deaths at this time, as it was allegedly an accident. We knew many of these doctors and our heart goes out to their friends and family. Dr. Jamie Zimmerman was alone when she allegedly slipped and died in Hawaii. She was a famous author and holistic MD who was about to begin a collaborative project with Deepak Chopra, MD, before her untimely...

Holistic New York MD hit & killed by intoxicated driver in Long Island

This appears to be an accident from what we can gather. Our heart goes out to family and loved ones. I am not including this as one of the official doctors in my unintended series. I hear nothing but kind things about this New York MD who would leave apples and protein shakes outside his neighbors’ doors and was thoughtful enough to bring “healthy organic cat food” to yet another neighbor for her cats. His web page says he treated joint pain and arthritis non-surgically, used botanicals and did prescribe some prescriptions (as do most holistic MD’s). His health grades page...

Twelfth holistic doctor found dead, alleged suicide

I never wanted to write a twelfth article. After writing the eleventh about our colleague, prominent holistic oncologist, Mitch Gaynor MD in NYC, I was truly hoping that it would be the last. I’d recently read his book as he’d sent us advance copies. My better half (also an author and holistic doctor) and I were shocked when we found out Mitch “killed himself” outside on his property. It didn’t add up. Many of his colleagues, patients and close friends, who wrote me daily, didn’t buy into his alleged suicide either. The details are scarce on the passing of...

Valeant Pharmaceuticals CEO: We’re in Business of Shareholder Profit, not Helping the Sick

Last month, Martin Shkreli became a household name. The CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals is now infamous for raising the price of a newly-acquired drug to $750 a pill. He also explained in an interview that his company was not alone in acquiring drugs currently on the market to raise their price and, in turn, rapidly drive up their stock price. Enter J. Michael Pearson,  The current CEO of Valeant Pharmaceuticals who recently said that his company’s responsibility is to it’s shareholders, while making no mention of his customers who rely on his drugs to live. “If products are sort of mispriced and there’s an opportunity, we will act appropriately in terms of doing what I assume our shareholders would like us to do.” Already this year, Valeant has increased the price of 56 of the drugs in its portfolio an average of 66 percent, highlighted by their recent acquisition, Zegerid, which they promptly raised 550 percent. Not only does this have the unfortunate side effect of placing the price of life-saving drugs out of reach for even moderately-insured people, but it has now begun to call into question the sustainability of this rapidly-spreading business model. In an interview with CNBC, Pearson defended his business practice of acquiring drugs instead of investing in research and development. “My primary responsibility is to Valeant shareholders. We can do anything we want to...
