Petty officer shoots himself
We are sad and with heavy heart to break this story before any other news source that at around 2am local time Petty officer second class just shot himself in the head aboard the USS Hasley stations in Pearl Harbor.
All personnel was called back on board. The Petty officer – a caucasian young male (we will not release a name at this time- initials are NB- we know his full name and info ) was the officer on deck told other he was going for a soda and went to a room and used his side arm to commit suicide.
NCIS is there aboard the ship investigating now and the Captain did talk the crew just moments ago to tell them that he did indeed kill himself.
The statistics are staggering as we see young men (and women) in the military commit suicide in alarming rates.
Sadly this young man is dead and just last week a 92 year old veteran killed himself *in* Arlington National Cemetery.
Between this and the disgraceful coverup where actual veteran’s deaths were in the VA I think it’s time to rethink our strategies with these endless wars.
I’ve seen people recently fight whether Dick Cheney or Obama are responsible. We know Cheney made millions if not billions of profit off the war and Obama is no angel either. CNN’s film “Escape Fire” took a surprisingly deep look into the failing health care system but also had great alternative therapies for vets that were working better than the numerous prescriptions. Some of the veterans were on more than 65 prescriptions at one time for PTSD and other ailments.
I’m not a Democrat or a Republican but I do know the current system is broken and hope we can start worrying about our own country instead of having our troops (and civilians – our own and of other countries) die needless deaths. It’s time to stop. I’d have think we’d have learned by now but history just seems to repeat itself.
