Carrie Fisher Strikes Back
The 59-year-old actress boldly took to Twitter on Monday (December 28) to set the record straight about her body in the new film: Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well,” the Star Wars star tweeted Tuesday. “Unfortunately it hurts all three of my feelings.”
“My body hasn’t aged as well as I have,” she continued. “Blow us.”
Sadly, the rant comes on the heels of C.F. revealing she was encouraged to lose 35 pounds for Princess Leia back in the day. (We never knew that ourselves!)
Fishers said to Good Housekeeping magazine, ‘They don’t want to hire all of me – only about three-quarters! I’m in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance.
‘Nothing changes, it’s an appearance-driven thing.
I (Erin Elizabeth) spent eight long years in Los Angeles so I remember everyone wanting to be thinner and thinner yet.
Fishers said: “Everyone in L.A. says, ‘Oh you look good, ‘ and you listen for them to say, ‘You’ve lost weight.’ It’s never ‘How are you?’ or ‘You seem happy!'”
That sounds about right. Maybe one day it will change.
