Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Grant William Robicheaux, who appeared on the Bravo series “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male,” and his girlfriend Cerissa Laura Riley were arrested last week and accused of drugging and raping at least two women. They are facing multiple felony charges in California.
Prosecutors have found ‘thousands’ of videos on Robicheaux’s phone where women “appear to be highly intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or resist,”1 and now fear there may be even more victims.
Of the two known cases, Jane Doe 1 reports that she met the couple at a bar in April 2016 and they invited her to a boat party in Newport Beach. She says they later took her to Robicheaux’s apartment and raped her. She contacted “police the next day and tested positive for multiple controlled substances.” And Jane Doe 2 drank with the pair in October 2016 “until she was “no longer conscious” at which time they took her to Robicheaux’s apartment “where she was sexually assaulted with intent to commit rape.” She says when she woke up the next morning “she screamed for help until a neighbor called police.”2
Robicheaux, 38, and Riley, 31, are facing felony charges of rape by use of drugs, oral sex using a controlled substance, assault with intent to commit a sexual offense and possession of controlled substances. In addition to those charges, Robicheaux is facing charges relating to possession of an assault weapon and a sentencing enhancement related to that weapon possession, while Riley faces a sentencing enhancement for being knowingly vicariously armed with a firearm.”4
The duo were arrested at Robicheaux’s home on Sept. 12th and each posted bail for $100,000. If convicted, Robicheaux will spend 40 years in prison while Riley faces 30 years and eight months in prison.
They are scheduled to appear in court next month. We will update you as more information becomes available.
