Recently, 800 Watson Clinic employees were treated to a catered lunch for a holiday party, at the main clinic on Lakeland Hills Boulevard. Then, more than 250 employees promptly got sick with stomach symptoms like nausea and vomiting.
The Department of Health is now working on tracing the source of the illness.
A Watson Clinic spokesperson emailed the following statement:
“Watson Clinic is currently working with the Florida Department of Health to determine the cause of the illness that afflicted over 200 of our employees following last week’s holiday luncheon. Out of concern for the employees that were affected by the illness we are not requiring employees that had to miss work due to this luncheon-related illness to use personal paid time off.”
We will update you when more information becomes available.
