I don’t wear makeup often but when I do have to they seem to load on the mascara. And it turns out those little wands are useful beyond giving eyelashes length.
Back in 2017, the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge “a nonprofit that coordinates the needs of wildlife rehabilitation in Western North Carolina providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife, support for the wildlife rehabilitation network and conservation education to the community,” asked people to save their mascara wands and donate them to the Wands for Wildlife campaign because staff and volunteers use them to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of orphaned and injured animals.
But they have even more needs. Check out the video below and then visit their website, linked above, to learn more about the organization. Or, to find out how to donate your old mascara wands or any of their other needs, click here.
