(Note from Erin: You may have tried to share this story on Facebook when it came out 11 days ago and saw that it had been branded as “Fake News” by some website Facebook is now using to fact check after Snopes announced they no longer wanted to fact check any longer. Well, while we admittedly made a mistake- which we have corrected- the story stands: firefighters did report neurological damage after contact with cell towers and the towers were old, 2G tech. We have included an interview with ABC channel 5 with the firefighters and their doctor to confirm they did report this. As evidenced by the broadcast- the firefighters also have a clause that no 5G towers be put near their stations in this California capital.  Please watch it to see for yourself. Thank you.

During the summer of 2018, Sacramento announced it would be the first city in the country to get 5G cell service. But, there were serious concerns about the equipment providing that service,

“5G uses high frequency waves and is supposed to be 100 times faster than the current cell phone service. However, the 5G waves don’t travel as far as current wireless frequencies so instead of large cell phone tower equipment spread far apart, the 5G requires small cell sites closer together.

The FCC does set exposure limits for cell site antennas that transmit signals to phones.”1

However, before those 5G towers were installed, firefighters in San Francisco who had a cell phone tower installed outside of their station were already reporting “memory problems and confusion”1 that stopped once they “relocated to stations without equipment nearby.”1 Again, this was BEFORE 5G. If it was happening before the new systems were in place, what would happen after the 5G rollout?

If regular old 2G is damaging, how much worse is 5G going to be?

Many people including scientists and politicians have been begging the world to pay attention. We must be more concerned about the health effects associated with this new wireless technology. After all:

All sources of cell phone and wireless WiFi radiation have already proven to be harmful, in 2011, The World Health Organization classified all sources of cell phone and wireless WiFi radiation as a possible carcinogen.

And research has shown that exposure can:

  • Worsen pre-existing conditions (even if it didn’t cause them)
  • Disrupt the blood-brain barrier
  • Cause a cumulative toxic effect when combined with other toxins
  • Harm pets, nature, and wildlife

While the major wireless players appear  to have some cities backed into a corner on where they put up a tower, you still have the right to contact your representatives and let them know how you feel. And if they don’t listen, we can vote them out of office.
