There is some good news in the wake of the tragedy in Houston, Texas with Hurricane Harvey. USA Today just officially announced (HOURS after we wrote this) that Joel Osteen made an official statement declaring he will indeed open up his church, once shelters are at capacity. I have family in Houston and am a hurricane survivor so I am glad to hear this!
Well known Slate reporter Ruth Graham, spoke to a church spokesperson Lakewood church who said they’d be opening the church but presently only have a skeleton staff of 6 to 8 people.

The question is, can people get in with many of the roads flooded around the affected area and megachurch?
