If you haven’t seen recent pictures of Kelly Clarkson then you either live under a rock or don’t care at all about famous people (which I TOTALLY get)! However, as you’ll notice in the pics above, she’s lost quite a bit of weight. And she did it after reading a book some dieticians (likely the same ones who coined the phrase “orthorexia”) are calling a “fad”.
Clarkson lost 37 pounds naturally and without exercise thanks to The Plant Paradox, a book by cardiac surgeon Steven R. Gundry:
“I literally read this book, and I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had and I had a thyroid issue, and now all my levels are back up. I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book. It’s basically about how we cook our food, non-GMO, no pesticides, eating really organic.” 1
And know, grateful for the change in her weight and overall health, Clarkson has reportedly adopted the diet as a lifestyle.
The author, Steven R. Gundry, has also published a companion cookbook with 100 recipes to help those looking for change and curious about the diet.
For the record, wanting to be healthy and eat healthily isn’t a bad thing. And, as long as you aren’t bulimic or anorexic, even eating a clean diet like this to lose weight or adopting it for maximum health, is never a bad idea.
