Perhaps that’s why asbestos-related deaths total almost 40,000 annually, with lung cancer and mesothelioma being the most common illnesses associated with the toxin. Asbestos poses a major health risk for everyone exposed to it, which includes those who mine it, handle it in industrial facilities, and people near or inside renovation and construction projects where it’s being used. Currently, the only industry that still uses asbestos is the chlor-alkali industry, importing about 480 tons of the carcinogen each year from Russia and Brazil. “Chlorine-based plastics are commonly found in building-product materials and “virtually […]

An expected 14 heart attacks, 10 strokes, and 13 deaths compared with preventing only 26 fractures. Of course, it’s no fun falling down and breaking your wrist, but most people would probably look at the risk-benefit analysis and conclude that calcium supplements are doing more harm than good. Given these findings, individuals should be discouraged from taking calcium supplements and advised to […]
In 2013 (the most recent data I could find available) Business Insider took on the job of outlining who was spending the most on advertisements on Facebook. Because truthfully, “…remarkably little is known about who Facebook’s biggest advertisers are.
