Exposed: Horrific Abuse Of Chickens At ‘Eggland’s Best’ Farms

[…]in the wire cage bottoms, they can fall down and get trampled by other hens. The video reveals dead, rotting carcasses of birds on which other hens stand and drop their eggs. The unfortunate hens die in grotesque ways. Some accidentally fall out of the cages into the manure pits below, where they are left to die slowly. Most, however, are yanked out of the cages once their egg production decreases, stuffed into garbage cans, and taken away to be gassed to death.” It’s no secret that chickens bred to be raised in factory farms often live in horrendous conditions, […]

Man films ocean during storm, catches this rarity in our own backyard

I love stories like this. Clint Blevins was in Daytona Beach, Florida when a storm rolled in. Thankfully, he grabbed his camera and was able to catch the most beautiful part of any gathering storm. Now, depending on how you feel about thunderstorms (they aren’t all bad) you might not be willing to do what Blevins did, but personally, I’m so thankful to be able to watch nature at her finest! In the video below, you’ll see that he was able to capture several small lightning strikes as well as one massive one very nearby. For those of you who don’t know […]

870,000 gallons of raw sewage spill into Florida river

(Note from Erin: I’m not sure how much more I can take; I’m exhausted and angry watching the disasters that keep befalling our amazing state and ecosystem here in Florida. Thankfully, the mess has been cleaned up. But, how many other abandoned or ignored pipes exist? When is this going to happen again?) Last Monday, a pipe that wasn’t properly abandoned (workers left behind a 15-foot section in a place that should have been abandoned), after it was replaced almost four decades ago, leaked an estimated 870,000 gallons of sewage into the Indian River Lagoon. “Titusville Water Resources field crews were able […]

Can new crop of Great Lakes politicians turn the tide on drinking water quality?

Regardless of the reason, a new crop of Great Lakes politicians is emerging and they are putting a spotlight on drinking water quality issues: (My editor, who lives very near Lake Michigan, is thrilled about this.) Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said in his State of the State speech that “7 million Wisconsinites depend on private wells for water, and 47 percent of these wells do not meet acceptable health standards.” He declared 2019 the “Year of Drinking Water Quality” in Wisconsin.1 In Chicago, a leading candidate for mayor announced a plan to replace the city’s 385,000 lead service lines. Candidate Toni Preckwinkle […]

RIP to my longtime next door neighbor, Motörhead frontman: Lemmy

[…]Elizabeth, Founder Health Nut News  Lemmy Kilmister (most just called him Lemmy) the founding member and frontman of Motörhead, and my next door neighbor for nearly 10 years, has died. He was 70 years old. RIP Lemmy. News of his death was first reported by radio and TV host Eddie Trunk. Several others have since confirmed the news, including Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. I, lil’ ole’ Erin,  was fortunate to live right next door to Lemmy for the better part of a decade- from the mid 90’s into the 2000’s in West Hollywood, California- on the 9000 block of Harratt Street. It […]

Trolls threaten murder on my FB page, use C word and far worse (warning graphic posts!) FB does nothing

[…]they are in receipt of the attorney’s letters. Why would they do this unless they want me dead? The following are all strangers. I’ve seen some of them endlessly harass other people’s pages, including those of women, the elderly and even teenagers. And the hits keep coming. Also, this is exactly the kind of thing that Facebook claimed, in the Guardian article, not to allow. That’s right, they said this type of behavior was NOT permitted. And yet, it’s been going on for years, we’ve asked them to do something and they always refuse. Notice the likes by these post […]

EPA decision to not ban pesticide raises flags

I’m no longer surprised by what the EPA wants to do and how little it seems to think of or care for our environment. While this decision is a disappointment, I’m not surprised. RELATED ARTICLES: The EPA’s Inspector General is probing whether an agency staffer colluded with Monsanto CNN – Patients: Roundup gave us Cancer as EPA Official Helped the Company! Please watch the video below. Dem State Rep. Rolanda Hollis Doubles Down on Mandatory Vasectomy Bill

[…]expense. HB 238 has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee. The legislation is very much dead-on-arrival in the Alabama legislature. RELATED STORY: ABC: Arkansas passes law allowing rapists to prevent victims who want an abortion In 2019, Hollis read from a poem “If My Vagina was a Gun,” comparing the Second Amendment rights debate to the debate over a woman’s right to an abortion during the discussion of the Human Life Protection Act. Debate on that bill last year in the upper chamber touched on vasectomy, but in a different way. State Sen. Vivian Davis-Figures (D-Mobile) offered an amendment […]

Volkswagen just re-released everyone’s favorite hippie-van…but now it’s electric.

[…]versions hold a candle to the original design. If Volkswagen does revive the old bus from the dead, we can only keep our fingers crossed that it maintains the original aesthetic, rather than slapping the VW logo on a Yaris and trying to make it cool, like the aforementioned 2011 concept. […]that, I don’t remember anything.” According to his mother, Jennifer Reindl, he was dead for 15 minutes, “When he came back, they said he would never be normal again. They told me the oxidation problems would be so bad to his brain, that he would be a vegetable if he even made it.” In the days following the accident he was barely breathing so she decided to sign papers to donate his organs and help five children who needed transplants. “Five kids needed organs that matched him. VIDEO: LA County Coroner Blames Playboy Model’s Death on Chiropractor, But Here’s the Real Story

[…]of Katie May should consider this: chiropractors have malpractice insurance just like medical doctors- insurance companies use math to assess risk on all (issues- not sure if this word is necessary) policies. But, Chiropractor’s pay 1/10th the fees that medical doctors pay for their malpractice policies which unequivocally demonstrates the safety of chiropractic care when compared to medical intervention. This fact and many others related to the discrimination of chiropractors are well documented in the filmed “Doctored” by Jeff Hays. As a side note, with regard to the LA coroner report on the matter of Katie May, the LA county corner- […]

There are few details DOJ’s inquiry, and the agency is being tight lipped. But the feds have actually stepped up to the plate and started to hold companies responsible when people die from eating their tainted food which is often their own fault. McDonald’s spokeswoman Becca Hary said, of their 2015 closings, “it’s important to note that while we will have a net reduction in restaurants [in the U.S.], the impact is minimal in comparison to the 14,000 restaurants we operate across the U.S.” She added that “we consistently review our restaurant portfolio and make strategic decisions to better position our business for the future.” There is certainly some truth to that.  If you business is suffering a loss, cutting that […]
