Recap: Full list of 80 dead scientists, with photos and shocking details

[…]with expertise in infectious diseases, internal medicine, epidemiology, microbiology and antibiotic utilization. #41: ‘Dr. Roger’ Died: Summer 2003. ‘Roger’ was pseudonym for this genetics scientist. He was 17 and lived in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 when the unexplained object crashed. He told a woman he worked with in 1977 named ‘Kate’ while employed by the Navy, who he helped to clean up the crash site of the 1947 UFO. He subsequently went to work for the government at this young age and ended up a geneticist working in China Lake for the Navy. Although he lived in fear and hiding soon […]

CBS: Keystone pipeline leaks hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil in S Dakota

On Thursday, TransCanada Corp and state regulators announced that the Keystone pipeline had leaked an estimated 210,000 gallons of oil in northeastern South Dakota (remember the numerous times we’ve been told they don’t leak?). Crews immediately shut the pipeline down on Thursday morning and activated emergency response procedures. The cause of the leak is still being investigated. The company announced that the pipeline would remain shut down as they dealt with the leak but did not offer an estimate on when it would be back online. The FDA’s crackdown on raw milk

[…]the books all along… The co-ops’ fear is not that the raw milk farmers would fail the antibiotic test… Most of us are organic and do not even use antibiotics period. Rather, the co-ops are afraid that if a raw milk farmer would not fill out the complex FDA required paperwork correctly when he makes a batch of raw cheese or bottles a few jugs of raw milk that his mistake would jeopardize all the rest of the farmers who make up the BTU (Bulk Tank Unit) of the milk co-op. And the Fear is Well Grounded The FDA has […]

There’s a new type of diabetes and It’s being misdiagnosed as Type 2

[…]body’s cells don’t react to insulin as much as they should do – something known as insulin resistance. Again, blood sugar levels cannot be controlled. Unlike Type 1, however, this variety is influenced by your weight, your age, and your genetic makeup. Gestational diabetes, which occurs as a result of pregnancy, is temporary and is linked to insulin resistance; as such, it’s rarely mentioned as being a separate version of the condition. RELATED STORY: Foods to avoid to help prevent diabetes Type 3c, by contrast, is mostly caused by damage to the pancreas, usually via chronic inflammation, cancerous growths, or […]

LA TIMES: It’s getting clearer — the diet-cancer connection points to sugar and carbs

[…](we need insulin to live). Rather, it’s the insulin that remains at elevated (insulin resistance) levels which can promote the growth of tumors directly and indirectly. (And because elevated insulin directs our bodies to store fat, it can also be linked to the various ways the fat tissue itself is thought to contribute to cancer.) So, it seems the problem isn’t just eating too much but WHAT we are eating. Easily digestible carbohydrates in general, and sugar, in particular, can cause insulin levels to rise to abnormally high levels and remain elevated and THAT can promote the growth of tumors directly and indirectly. […]

Foods to eat to help prevent diabetes

[…]Fat in the bloodstream—from the fat on our bodies or the fat we eat—not only causes insulin resistance, but also produces a low-grade inflammation that can contribute to heart disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Fiber may also decrease insulin resistance. One of the ways it may do so is by helping to rid the body of excess estrogen. There is strong evidence for a direct role of estrogens in the cause of diabetes, and it’s been demonstrated that certain gut bacteria can produce estrogens in our colon. High-fat, low-fiber diets appear to stimulate the metabolic activity of these estrogen-producing intestinal bacteria. This is a problem […]

[…]evidence that exposure to industrial toxins alone induces weight gain and insulin resistance, and, therefore, may be an underappreciated cause of obesity and diabetes. Consider what’s happening to our infants: Obesity in a six-month-old is obviously not related to diet or lack of exercise. They’re now exposed to hundreds of chemicals from their moms, straight through the umbilical cord, some of which may be obesogenic (that is, obesity-generating). Natural substances that fight malignant melanoma

[…]of advanced melanoma patients with a genetic BRAF V600 mutation, are associated with widespread resistance and the development of other cancers, including keratoacanthoma and squamous cell carcinoma, as side effects (6). For metastatic melanoma, the five-year survival rate is dismal at less than 25% (6). However, there are evidence-based natural substances supported by the scientific literature for their anti-melanoma effects, which may be used as an adjunctive approached alongside other multi-pronged strategies. What you should eat during and after antibiotics

[…]increase the risk of weight gain and obesity. Furthermore, the overuse of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance, making them ineffective at killing disease-causing bacteria. Finally, by changing the types of bacteria living in the intestines, antibiotics can cause intestinal side effects, including diarrhea. SUMMARY:Antibiotics are important for treating infections. However, if overused, they can cause long-term changes to healthy gut bacteria and contribute to liver damage. Take Probiotics During and After Treatment Taking antibiotics can alter the gut microbiota, which can lead to antibiotic-associated diarrhea, especially in children. Fortunately, a number of studies have shown that taking probiotics, or live […]

The alternative treatment anyone with diabetes should consider doing

[…]articles from 2008 to 2015 to determine whether acupuncture was a valid treatment for insulin resistance and to assess the possibility of acupuncture as a future treatment for insulin sensitivity. The results of the literature review suggested low intensity and low-frequency electroacupuncture could help in reducing insulin resistance and increasing insulin sensitivity. Electroacupuncture could be used alone or in combination with other treatments, including alternative therapies, such as diet and Chinese herbs. In 2015, Acupuncture in Medicine reviewed a group of studies where electroacupuncture was combined with an anti-diabetic medication, called metformin, to look for better glucose lowering responses and greater insulin sensitivity. The […]

France to ban glyphosate weedkiller by 2022

[…]effects. Against glyphosate and its role as an endocrine disruptor, and possibly a powerful antibiotic, there is a bundle of presumptions that justify applying the precautionary principle. But a brutal ban would pose an unsolvable problem for many farmers… I understand that perfectly. And I am on their side, including regarding their health. But on the pretext that it is complicated, should we continue to push the topic under the table? Will France therefore oppose renewal at European level? The answer is yes, because we have to make the fastest possible exit out of the most dangerous products. Without constraint, […]

(That reminds me of Gardasil, it’s supposed to protect against cancer but has caused it in many women.) It’s been estimated by a University of Missouri researcher that more than 3.1 million acres of soybeans have been damaged by dicamba, in at least 16 states (some of which are major producers). So, how exactly was a system this dangerous, approved for use?   “Critics say that the approval process proceeded without adequate data and under enormous pressure from state agriculture departments, industry […]

Scientists: Children need microbes, not antibiotics, to develop immunity

[…]here’s a small taste… “We’ve been hearing for some time that overusing antibiotics may lead to antibiotic-resistant hospital infections, something we may associate with the elderly and other immune-compromised people. But I gather the implications are much more immediate and individual than that. What’s the connection between microbes and the development of the immune system in childhood? When we’re born we do not have any microbes. Our immune system is underdeveloped. But as soon as microbes come into the picture, they kick-start our immune system to work properly. Without microbes our immune system can’t fight infections well. It’s not just […]

Phthalates are clearly a health risk even at very low levels of exposure, especially for pregnant women, infants and children. In the cheese study, researchers tested for 10 different phthalates in a variety of products, including 10 varieties of […]
