Medical Kidnapping: 3-year-old forced to undergo chemo; then state strips parents of custody after hospital reports them

[…]had been notified and a full explanation of the plan to seek another opinion had been expressed to doctors multiple times by Taylor. After being hunted down like criminals for simply exercising their rights, Noah was removed from his loving, attentive parents, placed into state custody, and returned with a stranger (case worker) to Florida. Upon his return he was admitted to Johns Hopkins where he stayed and was examined for 2 days, kept in a crib bed (enclosed cage-like contraption meant to contain infants during hospitalization) and forced to wear diapers, despite being an active, potty-trained 3 year old. […]

This Popular Anti Aging Hormone May Actually Shorten Your Life

[…]imagine that’s still safer than sticking a needle in your stomach, but I know someone whose doctors said their HGH levels were too high (just from naturally boosting the levels) There are many supplements I think are extremely beneficial. And I won’t deny that B12 injections helped me with overcoming Lyme (as well as my late teens kitty with a b12 deficiency) but you won’t see injecting this (or any hormones) any time soon. I’ll be posting a video shortly how I lost 30 pounds in about 90 days but it didn’t involved HGH. I think there are safer methods […]

Biggest Ever Review: Antidepressants can raise the risk of suicide

[…]loved ones to commit suicide, but they’ve been largly dismissed by medical companies and doctors who claimed a link was unproven. But, after the review compared clinical trial info to actual patient reports the scientists found, “pharmaceutical companies had regularly misclassified deaths and suicidal events in people taking anti-depressants to “favour their products,” reports The Telegraph. Experts are deeply concerned that clinical trials appear to have been misreported. Professor Peter Gotzche of the Nordic Cochrane Centre said, “It is absolutely horrendous that they have such disregard for human lives.” From the article: “Dr Joanna Moncrieff from University College London said: “People […]

Driving While Stoned? Marijuana Breathalyzers Expected to Hit the Street in 2020

Drivers suspected of being high on marijuana may soon face the same type of roadside breath test cops use to catch drunken drivers, as several firms prepare new devices for the street. Created by Hound Labs in Northern California, investors are banking on a “massive market” for the breath test, known as the Hound. The breath test will retail for approximately $5,000 per unit and is a collaboration with the University of California at San Francisco and Berkeley. It is funded by Intrinsic Capital Partners, a Philadelphia growth equity fund.  RELATED STORY: Report shows legal weed in Nevada made drivers […]

Follow the 5-to-1 rule for packaged foods

[…]disease. An accompanying editorial to a fiber and heart disease meta-analysis implored doctors to “enthusiastically and skil[l]fully recommend that patients consume more dietary fibre”––which means a lot of whole plant foods. If we do buy something packaged, however, the first word in the ingredients list should be “whole.” But, even if it is, the rest of the ingredients could be junk. A second strategy is to look at the ratio of grams of carbohydrates to grams of dietary fiber. We’re looking for about 5 to 1 or less. For example, whole-wheat Wonder Bread passes the first test: The first word in its ingredients […]

The Lyme Community Has Lost a Hero and a Friend: Dr. Neil Spector

[…]for True Healing,” published in 2015. In 1993, Dr. Spector began experiencing health problems. Doctors neglected to identify the cause for four years, suggesting that the inexplicable symptoms were all in Dr. Spector’s head. He was not diagnosed with Lyme disease until 1997, when it was discovered he only had 10% heart function. In 2009, after being told he had just 72 hours to live without a heart transplant, he received a new heart. Dr. Spector’s experience with Lyme disease lead him to advise patients: “Don’t give up the power you have within. If your gut instinct tells you that […]

[…]of asbestos, the Reuters investigation found. Company executives, mine managers, scientists, doctors and lawyers fretted over the problem and how to address it, while failing to disclose it to regulators or the public. Jim Kramer, the lawyer who deposed Gorsky this month, said he plans to ask the New York state judge in the case to allow him to question the CEO a second time in light of the FDA’s findings and the recall. J&J declined to comment on the possibility of a second round with Kramer or about its legal strategy following the FDA test result. Gorsky faces at […]

[…]Brazil. You’ll recall that the recent rise of microcephaly in Brazil has parents worried, doctors stumped and the WHO scrambling to figure out what’s going on. The reason that people are leaning into the man-made disaster theory more than ever, is because the recent outbreak in Brazil just happens to coincides with the release of genetically modified mosquitoes- back in 2012- by the British biotech company Oxitec. The recent outbreaks of sickness and microcephaly are occurring in the same place that the GM mosquitoes were released. What’s ironic is that the GM mosquitos were supposed to help aid in eradicating […]

Thankfully, doctors there diagnosed Ashley with Stevens Johnson Syndrome and immediately transferred her to the burn unit at the LA County/USC Medical Center and placed her in intensive care. Unable to breath and eat on her own, it would be two weeks before she made any improvement. According to Dr. Peter Grossman, medical director of the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills who was not involved with Ashley’s case, said that this type of serious reaction is happening “more and more with lamictal”1 than other types of […]

Do You Meet the Simple Seven?

[…]was diet. Unfortunately, unhealthy behaviors extend into the medical profession. Just like smoking doctors are less likely to tell their patients to stop smoking, and couch potato docs are less likely to push exercise, or things like more fruits and vegetables; we need to role-model healthy behavior. This greatly enhances our credibility and effectiveness. Gone are the days of traditional authority when the fat physician, dropping cigarette ash down his gravy-stained vest, could credibly prescribe a change in behavior. Lifestyle medicine, the use of diet and lifestyle changes to prevent and treat disease, cannot only be cheaper and safer, but […]

Giving this One thing Up Helped Me Go from Obese to Slender in 90 Days (and keep it off 2 years)

[…]someone wrote on my page that the #1 way to lose weight was to eat a good breakfast.  Leading doctors and health experts have been saying for years now that our ancestors didn’t have the luxury of sitting down and “breaking fast” (breakfast”) first thing in the morning.  And that old myth it’s the healthiest meal of the day? Frankly? (and forgive my French- by the way I’ve been there many times- they eat little breakfast) it’s bullsh*t. I also gave up coffee which was another huge factor of going from obese to fit in 90 days. (Coffee wreaks havoc […]

[…]anxiety disorder. This particular form of anxiety is the most prevalent form of anxiety treated by doctors. The researchers treated 93 anxiety patients between 2010 and 2015. Of these, 47 were given a placebo and 46 were given the chamomile. The researchers found that the chamomile group had over 40 percent fewer anxiety relapses during the treatment period. Also, anxiety relapses occurred an average of every 6.3 weeks for the placebo group and 11.4 weeks for the chamomile group. The risk of relapse was nearly half for the chamomile group compared to the placebo group. Long-term chamomile use was also […]

Study- Waste in Cancer Drugs Costs $3 Billion a Year

[…]makers $1.8 billion annually on discarded quantities and then spent about $1 billion on markups to doctors and hospitals. ‘Drug companies are quietly making billions forcing little old ladies to buy enough medicine to treat football players, and regulators have completely missed it,’ said Dr. Peter B. Bach, director of the Center for Health Policy and Outcomes at Memorial Sloan Kettering and a co-author of the study. ‘If we’re ever going to start saving money in health care, this is an obvious place to cut.'” There are even non-cancer drugs that generate waste(which weren’t included in the study), including one […]

Is Eating Raw Eggs Safe and Healthy?

(Editor’s Note: As a vegan, I don’t eat eggs and many doctors- like Dr. Greger- disagree that they are healthy for you. In fact, he’s done quite a bit of research to the contrary, but I know many of you do enjoy eggs- so read on!) Eggs are one of the world’s healthiest foods. They contain numerous important nutrients and can provide you with impressive health benefits. Raw eggs do have all the same benefits as cooked eggs. However, eating raw eggs or foods containing them raises concerns about the risk of Salmonella infection. Also, your absorption of some nutrients may […]

Can Eating Plants Help Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease?

[…]conclusions on the association of any modifiable factors with risk of Alzheimer’s disease.” Doctors cite the lack of randomized controlled trials  (RCTs) as the basis for their conclusions. RCTs are the gold standard used to test new medicines. This is where researchers randomize people into two groups, half get the drug and half don’t, to control for confounding factors. The highest level of evidence is necessary because drugs may kill a hundred thousand Americans every year – not medication errors or illicit drugs, just regular, FDA-approved prescription drugs, making medication alone the sixth leading cause of death in the United […]
