Pig Jumps from Truck on Way to a Slaughterhouse
This little piggy escaped market and gave birth to nine healthy piglets, who are now enjoying their freedom at an animal sanctuary.
The brave sow jumped from a moving flatbed truck near Sacramento, California and miraculously landed on grass, according to an account byAnimal Place.
Animal control officers were able to catch her before transporting her to a shelter usually only reserved for dogs and cats. As the shelter waited for an owner to claim her, as is law, she gave birth to 14 piglets.
Nine of the tiny pigs survived and when no one came to claim their mom, Animal Place took in the whole family. A video below shows the piglets hopping around in the dirt and enjoying their new home in Grass Valley, California.
