Just in case you hadn’t already seen this article AND in honor of today being Election Day, I thought I’d share this little gem.
At the end of last month, in a crazy and unexpected televised address, Queen Elizabeth II- THE Queen- offered to restore British rule over the United States of America! Can you even imagine?!?!?
As she addressed the American people from her office in Buckingham Palace, the Queen said, “This two-hundred-and-forty-year experiment in self-rule began with the best of intentions, but I think we can all agree that it didn’t end well.”
Because she’s apparently got a sense of humor, she urged Americans to write in her name on Election Day and then British rule could begin “with a minimum of bother.” Am I the only one that wishes we still spoke like that?

The Queen acknowledged that due to Brexit we might be a little worried about being governed by the parliamentary system, but she reassured us saying (this is where her British sarcasm showed up and she was totally condescending) “Parliament would play no role in this deal. This would be an old-school monarchy. Just me, and then, assuming you’d rather not have Charles, we could go straight to William and those children of his who have mesmerized you so.”
But she didn’t stop there. She used the last moments of her speech to speak about her credentials, let us know that she had never used e-mail, and had only had sex with one person “very occasionally.”
The Queen instead of the options before us? Anyone?
