Update:
A statement released by authorities Monday said that an autopsy found that Moran “likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer.”
Toxicology tests were performed and results are pending, but “no illegal narcotics were found” at Moran’s residence in New Salisbury, Ind., about 20 miles from Louisville, Ky.
The statement did not say what kind of cancer Moran had.
Happy Days” actress Erin Moran has died at age 56.
Moran, who found fame as Joanie Cunningham in the hit ABC sitcom Happy Days and the spinoff “Joanie Loves Chachi,” faced a downward spiral in 2012 when she wound up down on her luck without a place to live. She was evicted from her home in an Indiana trailer park in 2012.
