Monsanto’s Toxic Weedkiller is Banned in the Netherlands
And Monsanto bites the dust. Again. However, considering they probably made the dust because their super-toxic pesticide Roundup killed all our plants and destroyed our earth, it seems fitting. Ok, drama aside, they haven’t destroyed the entire earth yet and another country is putting a stop to them doing any more damage in their country.
The government of the Netherlands just banned Roundup.
Let that sink it. This is a HUGE victory and one that Monsanto fought every step of the way but the Dutch parliament put its citizens first and did what was right. It is high time more countries did the same. This pesticide is known to contaminate soil and water and do detrimental damage (even sometimes fatal) to humans when exposed to it.
To date there have been plenty of scientific studies (here and here) showing how hazardous it is, even if Monsanto has funded studies to the contrary (not so curiously). And health experts also agree it’s dangerous. It’s also one of the most popular weedkillers in the world and is thus, everywhere; its residue is found in soil, water and the food we eat. This terrible chemical, the one that is so dangerous to spray without the proper clothing, is in our food. The food they expect us to eat without batting an eye or making a complaint. The result, over the last couple decades, has been an increase in cancer, kidney damage, birth defects, and so many other serious health issues.
Remember too that Roundup and GMO’s are tied together. Corn, wheat and other seeds have been genetically modified to grow with this poison.
Enough is enough.
Ban The Sale Of Roundup
SumofUs.org is calling on other governments in Europe to follow the Netherlands lead and ban the sale of Roundup and this is a cause we here at Health Nut News can get behind. It is time to ban this toxic chemical. Follow the link at the bottom of the page and sign the petition. We have seen a lot of change in the last 6 months, change that is made possible when we stand together and demand better for ourselves and our loved ones.
