For those of you who love to sleep in the nude, you’ll be happy to know that science agrees with you that it’s a good idea! A joint 2015 study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Maryland, and Stanford University, found that sleeping in boxer shorts (the biggest offenders) or PJs can damage sperm production and harm the chances of having a baby.

But that’s not all…
The quality of your sleep is better:
Most sleep experts agree that sleeping in your birthday suit helps your body to regulate its temperature and that results in better, deeper, and happier sleep because your body temperature falls once you’re asleep.
You could lose weight
Check this out: if your body is too hot while you sleep, it won’t release much human growth hormone, which is the trigger it uses to repair cells. So, your cortisol (stress hormone) level will stay high, causing a night-time spike in insulin. This means your body effectually stays in ‘panic’ rather than ‘healing’ mode and thus stores fat rather than burns it. Perhaps this is why researchers have found that insufficient sleep is linked to diabetes and heart disease.
You’ll look younger
Perhaps it’s better to say you’ll age better. The same human growth hormone that helps you burn fat is also known as the body’s anti-aging agent. When it repairs your cells, it also helps to smooth over skin lesions, spots, and even wrinkles.
Also, for those of you in a relationship, going to bed nude could result in a more content relationship; sleeping naked is believed to tigger the release of oxytocin. Researchers believe the key is the skin-on-skin contact which triggers the oxytocin release. You feel happier, your partner does as well, and then…everyone wants to have sex. It’s a win-win.
You’ll dodge fungal infections
The article reports “Whereas pyjamas or boxers promote the dreaded ‘sweaty nads syndrome’, sleeping in the buff helps to let your crown jewels breathe – which means you’ll be less likely to suffer from fungal infections such as jock strap itch.”
What do you think? Is the thought of sleeping nude too much? Maybe you think it would be too uncomfortable or just odd? Is there a stigma attached to it?
