Have you ever noticed that certain fruits are only in season at specific times during the year? I love the winter and summer months, so my house is loaded with winter and summer fruits to please my appetite.

I personally enjoy eating fruit when they are in season, this will guarantee the freshness and quality on the fruit. However, there are different kinds of fruit that I do enjoy year round because they are just that tasty, like watermelon, grapes, peaches and pears.

Winter Fruit of the Year

The orange is the most popular winter fruit. Normally, I do not purchase oranges year round, I prefer to enjoy them in the winter because during the winter months oranges typically taste better. Look for oranges that are heavy for their size, this means that they are juicier and taste amazing.

Sure, you could get oranges year round, but they are best in the winter months. Not to mention that they come from within America. Importing oranges may not be the best idea because they could be grown without the same rules and regulations that U.S. farms must follow.
