We constantly preach the importance of fresh, whole foods here but not just for those who, like me, live a plant-based life. Rather, we recommend this for everyone. Yes, veganism and vegetarianism have exploded in the last couple of years, but without a clear plan or education on the lifestyle, many are putting animal products back on their plates.

While a plant-based diet can lower blood pressure, a risk of obesity, and lower your cancer risk, 1 if you are eating prepacked meals and meat substitutes full of processed soy, MSG, and mold, you will notice sluggishness and weight gain. And apparently, as substitutes like Quorn, MorningStar Farms, and Boca have become more commonplace, so has their consumption among those who follow the plant-based lifestyle.
