If you use tampons and you get cramps, you might love this news. A company called Fiora has created weed tampons or “cannabis vaginal suppositories” as a way to help ladies deal with the often unbearable pain of period cramps. And you can buy them here.

From the article:

“These cannabis-laced tampons contain THC and CBD (the two main active cannabinoid compounds found in marijuana), which help take down pain, release happy chemicals to the brain, and relax muscles and nerves. Many women who have already tried them are saying they’ve helped with the awful terror that is having your period.”

Before you get too excited, these aren’t super easy to get your hands on. In order to purchase them, you first have to join Fiora’s collective and depending on what state you live in, you might even need to fill out an application and include a physician’s recommendation letter. Oh, and they aren’t cheap, either. A pack of four will cost you $44- that’s $11 per tampon.

However, let’s talk about why you have those cramps in the first place, because you don’t HAVE to suffer with them. Try cutting out certain foods, stop using tampons, get your hormones under control- cramps shouldn’t be a part of your life. If you need help, find a good homeopathic doctor to help you get to the bottom of your issues.

I’m gonna get real here ladies- there’s a reason that blood is coming out every month, it needs to. Your body was created to make a nest for a growing baby and when that doesn’t happen, your body sheds its old uterine lining. That blood needs to get out, but when we plug it up with a tampon- and once that tampon is soaked- where does that blood go? It gets reabsorbed and that can lead to all kinds of problems. So instead of covering up your symptoms, listen to your body.

Personally, I use these “tampons“. Once they are soaked, they simply leak because there isn’t anything to stop them from doing so, which means the old blood isn’t going to stay where it shouldn’t be. You can also invest in reusable pads, check out this brand here. Or the new underwear that have pads built right in. The point is you have choices. Do your homework and make the best choice for you and your body.
