My editor lives not far from the Grand River and hasn’t heard ANYTHING about this ongoing issue. While it is true that no one in Michigan is currently swimming in any outdoor bodies of water, this is still information that people need to have.

At this point, it’s estimated that about 500,000 gallons a day have been leaking into the Grand River since Friday, Feb. 24. That’s a lot of sewage and it’s headed right toward Lake Michigan.
While officials aren’t sure what caused the spill, divers have been in the water since late Sunday and will continue to work until they fix the problem.
