On Tuesday, Jacqueline Camaro- a cancer nurse who once worked for the famous Upper East Side oncologist Mitchell Gaynor- was arraigned on charges that she stole $1.1 million dollars from Gaynor’s office. She was ordered held without bail but will be able to post a bond if Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Abraham Clott approves the conditions. Her alleged theft was discovered after Gaynor’s suspicious death in 2015.
Camaro pleaded not guilty to charges that included grand larceny, tax fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.
The allegedly “stolen” funds weren’t noticed until after Gaynor’s death, perhaps because an audit of his estate was being done?
From the NY Daily News:
“Prosecutors said Camaro, 58, was entrusted with taking payments from patients at Gaynor’s office.
She brazenly deposited about 800 checks into her own account between 2008 and 2016, totaling over $1 million, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.”
Camaro would later authorize $55,000 in unauthorized additional payments from Gaynor to her bank and credit cards accounts. It appears she also bought a Porsche Boxster.
We find it curious that the site below AllNurses.com pontificates whether he killed himself (allegedly) because of this money “issue”. What they fail to mention in their article is that their own founder of AllNurses.com killed himself and his entire family last year as we reported when the tragic story broke in September of 2015 (at the height of the holistic doctor deaths).
The rabbit hole seems to get deeper by the day.
