In case you missed it, the actress Lucy Hale, who is best known for her long-running CW series, Pretty Little Liars (after seven years on the air, the series ended this summer) is the latest woman standing up to body shamers. Here at Health Nut News we want all people to be their healthiest selves- and that means every body type- but shaming is never ok.

On September 22, a Twitter troll called Teddy Forte tweeted to Hale that she looked anorexic and told her to eat a hamburger. However, instead of just taking it, she responded swiftly:1

Defending herself: Lucy refused to look the other way and accept the body-shaming comment and she responded in a series of tweets, ripping into the man in an impassioned rant

Her fans responded by liking and retweeting. Forte responded with a .GIF but not an apology.

In 2012, Hale opened up about her battle with anorexia. She knew that not eating for days or only having some fruit and spending hours in the gym wasn’t healthy so she did something about it. 1

We commend her for her bravery. It’s hard dealing with an illness like anorexia and it’s even harder doing it in the public eye.
