On Sunday night, a Washington, DC, council member- who is himself a liberal Democrat (and many would argue NOT an anti-semite)- had to apologize via Twitter and Instagram for comments he made about the Rothschilds (who we are NO FANS of). You see, the councilman had made a comment which implied that the snowy spring conditions were the fault of the infamous Jewish family.

And so, in an attempt to quiet the backlash, he posted the comment below: 2
Rabbi Daniel Zemel, of Temple Micah in Washington, said:
“This kind of anti-Semitism is unacceptable in any public official. This so diminishes what America is about and adds to the oppressive feeling going on in the country right now. We all have to be better. Public officials have to learn not to say the first ignorant thing that comes into their head.”2
