Back in late 2016, we wrote about the fact that researchers felt they were on the cusp of making male birth control pills a reality. And it seems now we may be one step closer. Last week, researchers presented their study results at the annual Endocrine Society meeting in Chicago, IL.
The study found that dimethandrolone undecanoate, a hormone pill, could reduce testosterone and other hormone levels responsible for sperm production– without causing any serious side effects.1
Unfortunately, the study’s sample size was too small so more research will need to be conducted first. However, it’s progress!
