Resveratrol is a polyphenol compound found in certain plants (and in red wine) that has antioxidant properties and has been investigated for possible anticarcinogenic effects. And antioxidants are incredibly important because they “help to prevent or stop the cell damage caused by oxidants (free radicals found in the environment and produced naturally in our body).” 1
