The California electric utility, which has drawn sharp criticism for its role in the massive wildfires that have ravaged parts of the state, announced the settlement late Friday. PG&E said the settlement, which needs to be approved by a bankruptcy court, would be a final step toward resolving claims against the utility. It follows two other settlements, totaling $12 billion.
