Did you know that 30 million deaths a year are classified as preventable in the United States? A recent study by Harvard University says that if you give up eating animal products and switch to a vegetarian diet, one-third of early deaths might be avoided. That means 1 million American lives would be saved annually. RELATED STORY: Vegetarians less likely to develop cancer than meat eaters, study says 4 1/2 year-old boy goes vegetarian.  A must watch Of course, even with a vegetarian diet you still need to make healthy food choices. FDA push to ban bioidenticals moving forward

An update on efforts to preserve access to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Action Alert! We’ve been telling you about the FDA’s efforts to curtail or eliminate patient access to bioidentical hormones, as well as potential intellectual property challenges from the pharmaceutical industry that would prevent compounding pharmacies from preparing these important medicines. The measure is expected to be officially passed into city law after a second vote next week.1 RELATED STORY: 1984 turns 70-years-old in a world that looks a lot like the book However, those in favor...

1984 turns 70-years-old in a world that looks a lot like the book

(Thank you to John Vibes at Truth Theory for this story.) This month, George Orwell’s legendary novel Nineteen Eighty-Four turns 70 years old, and the warnings contained within the story are now more relevant than ever. Orwell’s predictions were so spot on that it almost seems like it was used as some type of accidental instruction manual for would-be tyrants. In the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four, there is an all-encompassing surveillance state that keeps a watchful eye on everyone, in search of possible rebels and points of resistance. Censorship is the norm in this world, and is so extreme that individuals can become...
