Check out the black bean HEMP-burger (with recipe!)

When I saw this recipe, and after I got done salivating, I knew I had to share it with everyone. I can’t wait to make it and if you make it, please share a pic with us! Sweet Potato Soul‘s Jenné Claiborne has created an amazing burger that everyone will enjoy. Check out the recipe and video below. The recipe makes 6 patties1, just double the recipe if you want more than 3-6 servings (depending on how much you eat). FYI: Brazil nuts, hemp seeds, and pumpkin seeds are pricey. CNN: Yoga instructor who went out for a hike in Maui is missing

Amanda Eller, 35, a yoga instructor living in Maui was reported missing on Thursday. Her family and friends haven’t heard from her since 7:03 a.m. on May 8th.  “Police found her white Toyota RAV4 in the parking lot at Makawao Forest Reserve on Thursday morning at about 9:50 a.m. ‘Her car was there and her belongings were in her car. Her phone was in her car,’ Eller’s friend, Sarah Haynes, told CNN affiliate KHON. ‘That is common for her. She likes to unplug when she runs.'”1 Although the police have ended their search, Haynes said “Amanda’s really well loved in the yoga community and there are people coming from all over the island coming in and hiking and trying to find her.”1 And right now, one thing those volunteers want is video: “Organizers were also seeking video from residents and businesses along the route from the Hāna Highway to the Haʻikū Post Office, and the Haʻikū Post Office to the Makawao Forest Reserve. This request comes after video was reportedly obtained of a vehicle matching Eller’s leaving the Haʻikū Post Office at 10:21 a.m. on the day she was last seen. A Mother’s Day package was reportedly mailed the day she disappeared, and was received by the pet sitter of her parents yesterday, according to updates posted on the Findamanda Facebook page. Searchers hope any additional footage could help to determine...

Can new crop of Great Lakes politicians turn the tide on drinking water quality?

Regardless of the reason, a new crop of Great Lakes politicians is emerging and they are putting a spotlight on drinking water quality issues: (My editor, who lives very near Lake Michigan, is thrilled about this.) Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said in his State of the State speech that “7 million Wisconsinites depend on private wells for water, and 47 percent of these wells do not meet acceptable health standards.” He declared 2019 the “Year of Drinking Water Quality” in Wisconsin.1 In Chicago, a leading candidate for mayor announced a plan to replace the city’s 385,000 lead service lines. Candidate Toni...
