YAHOO: Ironman Dean Mercer 47, killed in single car crash from alleged heart attack

Former Austrailian ironman Dean Mercer (a two-time winner- 89 and 95), crashed his car into a fence on the Gold Coast early Monday morning and died. At this time, it is believed the reason for the crash was a heart attack. He was transported to the hospital after the crash and in a critical condition but later died. He was 47 years old. His family have been notified of the accident.1 Mercer has two Australian crowns. HuffPo: Nursing home residents seen sitting in waist-high water before rescue (and kitty too!)

I waited five long hours to post this photo and story until I was sure it was true. Huffington Post reported that many thought it was fake, but sadly the photo is very real. I’m so glad to read that all residents (and the kitty too, we are told!) were safely rescued from the nursing home. We lost our home in 1991 to a category 4 twister and feel for these folks, many of whom cannot walk more than a few steps without assistance. Amazon will start lowering prices at Whole Foods starting Monday

Beginning on Mondy, customers at Whole Foods will notice that prices on popular items have dropped, thanks to what some are calling “the Amazon effect.” (Back in June, Amazon announced it planned to purchase the grocery store chain for $13.7 billion. New stem cell treatment offers dramatic burn-healing potential

A med-tech startup has developed a fast and easy way to treat certain burn wounds with stem cells. RenovaCare harvests a variety of cells, including stem cells, from a healthy area of skin on a patient.
