55 Years after Agent Orange Was Used in Vietnam, One of Its Creators Is Thriving Here

Fifty-five years ago this month, the U.S. Army began spraying millions of gallons of the toxic defoliant known as Agent Orange over large swaths of southern Vietnam. Today, however, instead of resentment and isolation from the U.S., the country is awash with Americanophilia. Ho Chi Minh City, once the capital of the U.S.-backed regime under the name of Saigon, is now teeming with McDonald’s and Starbucks businesses. The present economic hub of Vietnam also boasts an increase in Apple stores, which see their clientele anxiously waiting for the debut of the latest iPhones and are often considered by many...

‘Facekini’ wearers in China unfazed by Burkini debate

(Isn’t is unbelievable what people will do to stay out of the sun? This takes the cake. Insane.) Recently the French have been in the news for banning, and then unbanning, burkinis (swimsuit that covers the whole body except for the face, hands and feet) on their beaches. This can lead to a distinctive pattern of balding, in both men and women, for which there is a strong genetic link. This link relates to the activity of an enzyme, 5-alpha-reductase, which converts the male hormone, testosterone, to a stronger version...

Govt Exposed For Forcing Foster Kids, Even Toddlers To Take Dangerous Psychotropic Drugs

After years of growing concern, the California state auditor has produced a damning report describing how the state’s 79,000 foster children are being drugged with psychotropic medications at abnormally high rates. The report found that nearly 12 percent of kids in California’s child welfare system were prescribed psychotropic medications – including antipsychotics, antidepressants and mood stabilizers – during 2014-2015. This compares to a rate of 4 to 10 percent for non-foster kids. Some of these vulnerable children were drugged “in amounts and dosages that exceeded state guidelines,” with no follow-up by the county to ensure these prescriptions were appropriate. Some...
