Bloomberg: Nestlé must face lawsuit in connection with GMO labeling

Nestlé USA Inc. must face a proposed class-action lawsuit in connection with the labeling of several products, including Coffee-mate, Buitoni tortelloni, and Lean Cuisine ravioli, as containing “No GMO Ingredients,” according to a September 19 California federal court ruling. NBC: FDA again expands recall of blood pressure drugs

The voluntary recall for two of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.’s blood pressure medications has been expanded after small amounts of a potentially cancer-causing toxin were discovered during testing. The recall affects Losartan Potassium Tablets USP and Losartan Potassium/hydrochlorothiazide tablets. Little Rock, Arkansas homeless residents are given the opportunity to pick up trash and clean up the city and it is working wonders.

With the problem of homelessness in some cities becoming an epidemic, one Arkansas city appears to have a common sense approach to tackling the problem head on. They’re taking taxpayer dollars and paying the homeless to pick up trash. The Bridge to Work program started in April in Little Rock, Arkansas and pays homeless individuals $9.25 an hour to tidy up the metropolis and capitol city of the state. MIT Media Lab Kept Regulators in the Dark, Dumped Chemicals in Excess of Legal Limit

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab have dumped wastewater underground in apparent violation of a state environmental regulation, according to documents and interviews, potentially endangering local waterways in and near the town of Middleton. Nitrogen levels from the lab’s wastewater registered more than 20 times above the legal limit, according to documents provided by a former Media Lab employee. When water contains large amounts of nitrogen, it can kill fish and deprive infants of oxygen.
