An equipment failure at one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in the northwestern part of Washington State is dumping millions of gallons of untreated raw sewage into Puget Sound. An equipment failure at 2 a.m. on Thursday at the West Point Treatment Plant was the immediate cause. Had they not bypassed the plant, the wastewater would have backed up into the plant and either destroyed or damaged the equipment. According to new numbers from the Florida Department of Children and Families, the total of minors taken into protective custody for mental health exams- under the Baker Act- has increased by 50 percent from 2010 to 2015.
